HISTORY • Ben Sidran (1997)

"Ben Sidran and Jimi met at a recording session for Ricky PetersonBen and Jimi hit it off well and began working together on each others projects. They toured Japan and Europe with singer Clementine, songwriter Dio Daddo, and allowed Jimi to show off his own new songs.  Ben liked Jimi's material and hired him to play on four Clementine albums, which included writing the song: “Always Remember You” for her “Solita” LP that included musicians Lenny Castro and Bob Malach

During a promotional tour for Clementine in Germany Jimi was given an opportunity to play to a room of music critics.  Clementine was supposed to sing but at the last minute backed out leaving Ben in a tough situation.  Ben and Jimi got up and played a couple of Jimi's new originals and it went over very well.  Ben was so impressed he signed Jimi up to his label Go/Jazz for the Livin’ On Mars album he had been working on.

Players included Gordon Johnson, David Anania, Greg Inhofer, Dale Mendenhall and Kathy Jensen.  Livin’ On Mars received good reviews from European music magazines."
