HISTORY • Ben Sidran (1997)

"Ben Sidran and I met at a recording session for Ricky Peterson.  Ben and I hit it off well and he began to call me to work on his projects.  He eventually brought me to Japan and Europe to work with singer Clementine, songwriter Dio Daddo, and allowed me to show off my new songs.  Ben also hired me to play on four Clementine albums, which included writing the song: “Always Remember You” for her “Solita” LP that included musicians Lenny Castro and Bob Malach

During a promotional tour for Clementine in Germany I was given an opportunity to play to a room of music critics.  Clementine was supposed to sing but at the last minute backed out leaving Ben in a tough situation.  Ben and I got up and played a couple of my new originals and it went over very well.  Ben was so impressed he signed me up to his label Go/Jazz for the Livin’ On Mars album I had been working on.

Players included Gordon Johnson, David Anania, Greg Inhofer, Dale Mendenhall and Kathy Jensen.  Livin’ On Mars received good reviews from European music magazines."
