"I signed up with The Jeff Lorber Band in 1986 and rehearsals began in LA shortly after. Jeff hired me to go on tour to promote his new album “Private Passion” that contained the hit song “Facts Of Love” and “Back In Love”. The new band featured Karyn White and Michael Jefferies on lead vocals. I loved working with drummer Bruce Carter from the Seattle based band “Pleasure” as we had chemistry together. Dave Koz was the sax player along with Alex Milstein on bass.
The band was funky, loud and laid out a very tight groove with lots of solos. Powerhouse singers Karyn White and Michael Jefferies appealed to young people and sophisticated jazz enthusiasts alike. Appearances included the Hollywood Bowl, The Greek Theater, The Universal Amphitheater with Chaka Khan, The Joan Rivers show, Soul Train, The Club Bravus in Tokyo and an extensive U.S. tour.
After this I returned to Minneapolis to join the legendary Doug Maynard Band and to be with my family, write songs, and do session work."
