HISTORY • Ricky Peterson (1990)

"I met Ricky Peterson around 1977.  We were both session players at the time and had worked on many recordings together and were friends.  I moved back to Minneapolis from Miami and was hired to play on Rick’s first album “Nightwatch” along with Vinnie Colaiuta, John Patitucci and Bob Malach and other top players.

Through the years,
I have played on three of his albums.  Ricky brought in such top quality musicians on his albums such as Robben Ford, Paul Jackson Jr., Hiram Bullock, Michael Bland, Lenny Castro, Brandon Fields, Howard Levy, Billy Peterson, Billy Franze, Ben Sidran, Eric Leeds, The Horn Heads and David Sanborn.

Rick brought me in to Paisley Park play on a song for a Prince album as well as other projects he was producing.  It’s always been privilege to know and work with Rick as he has the best outlook on life and everybody plays better, has a good time, when he’s around. He is loved by all.”
