HISTORY • T.C. Jammers (1984)

"My time with the Jammers was relatively short, as Laura Branigan would hire me less than a year after joining.  The Jammers had been a legendary funk band in Minneapolis for years and had asked me to join the group while I was still living in Miami working with Caldwell.

The members at the time were Melanie Rosales, Steve Raitt, Eddie Brown, Mark Licktieg, Pat Mackin and Bobby Vandell. Steve Raitt would run sound and then join the group for the third set singing James Brown plus some of my own original songs.  The Jammers intense grooves and extended solo’s provided a perfect foundation for me to stretch out".

You had to be sure of yourself in this band.  The TC Jammers had bad-ass high-tension grooves with lots of attitude.  I enjoyed Eddy Brown's playing and the way he approached the music.
