BIOGRAPHY


Jimi Behringer is an American Guitarist/Songwriter/Vocalist with deep roots in rock, funk and blues. His genuine and original style earned Jimi a reputation as an extremely versitile and talented entertainer very early in his career. He has performed all over the world with many hit artists and now writes and records his own albums which he is currently promoting.

He has performed with top artists during their peak popularity such as Prince, Laura Branigan, Bonnie Raitt, The Jets, Jeff Lorber Band, Kitaro and has written along side with hit songwriter Bobby Caldwell.

Born and raised in Minneapolis Jimi began playing guitar at the age of ten.

His earliest musical influence was his grandmother who was a pianist and mother who tap danced professionally in the 1940's. Jimi's musical vocabulary increased dramatically when the family moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in the early 60s as people generally shared musical knowledge more openly there.

In Scottsdale, Jimi began playing in clubs, talent contests and strip bars at the age of 13. Working his way up the industry In 1977 he joined R&B funk band Good Vibrations and would later join Gypsy as a guitarist and songwriter on RCA Records.

In 1982 Jimi moved to Miami and was introduced to Bobby Caldwell as a songwriter looking to place songs. Bobby decided to bring Jimi onboard as a co-writer and guitarist. They both spent the next two years writing and recording the album "August Moon" on Polygram records.

n 1984 Jimi toured with the legendary Laura Branigan, the tour included television appearances on Johnny Carson and Solid Gold.

The tour was the very successful "Private Passions Tour" along with multiple other venue and television appearances.


Jimi then joined the Jeff Lorber Band and was doing a very different style of music which he enjoyed and became an integral member of the band. They did multiple television appearances such as Solid Gold, Joan Rivers Show and Soul Train. The tour lasted two years and was to promote the "Private Passions" album

Following a successful tour with the Lorber Band, Jimi toured with New-Age artist Kitaro. including four world tours, live recordings, television appearances and a PBS documentary it was an extremely successful tour and was known for its impact and popularity around the world. It was the first time a Japanese artist used American Musicians.



After ten years of touring Jimi decided he didn't want to travel for a while so he could raise his family and devote more of his time to his family and writing & recording his own music.
